This painting is heavily impastoed oil paint, creating wonderful texture. The piece comes in a custom Peruvian Walnut museum style frame. It is varnished and ready to hang.
About the Artist
Matthew Frederick lived on an Arabian horse ranch with his partner for 17 years, raising and breeding award-winning show horses. It was there, in the barn, where he dedicated himself to painting. Matthew received his art degree in the ;80s, but went on to pursue a career in landscape design. After many years in the field, he burned out and felt a rekindling desire to paint. Matthew;s work is a backlash to the traditionally serious nature of the landscape genre. His work presents nature and structure with a delightful whimsy that reminds the viewer to turn their head and look again the next time they pass a familiar place that has lost its allure.
