I took a walk on the coastal bluffs one late afternoon in the spring as a series of storm clouds passed out over the Pacific Ocean. Even in the wind and rain, I stood in awe of the colors and patterns of the clouds;a magical hour on the bluffs.
About the Artist
Sheila spends many hours studying clouds from the cockpit of her sailboat on the California coast. She's frequently blessed with beaming sunrises and storms that create beautiful displays of light streaming across the ocean or shimmering off the nearby coastal mountain range. Sheila's award-winning paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, and her work has been exhibited at the prestigious L'Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.

There is something very dreamy about these works, exemplified by their color, texture, and atmospheric quality. Valerie’s first “art epiphany†was seeing Seurat's La Grande Jatte at the Art Institute of Chicago. “Bowled me over! I actually fell down. And I knew I was to become a painter.â€
