About the Item

Katie Hallam Erosion Limited Edition Digital Photograph Edition of 75 Size of Work: H 80cm x W 40cm x D 1cm Sold Unframed Ready to Hang – Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look. ‘Erosion’ shows natures own artistic way of carving out our landscape. This is a detailed photograph of Scotlands Fife coastline and the rugged surfaces that lie beneath. Technology consumes us all in today’s society. I am interested in the relationship we have with all digital technologies and as a Photographer I am intrigued in exploring the construction and deconstructing of digital image data, coding, pixels and the ‘glitches’ that can occur in our technological experiences. My collections explore the question: Is it the technology itself that is the cause of ‘the beautiful error’ or our own hand that forces the interruption? My photographs are rewritten, deliberately corrupted through processes which stem from computer hardware, apps, operating systems and data coding. The results are unique and random and often give an appreciated aesthetic that encourage viewers to capture otherwise unnoticed details through pixels, colour and composition and clearly please those who are excited about technology itself. Whether or not you accept a glitch or an error in technology as an art form, glitches themselves are short-lived, unless captured and displayed and it’s my passion as an artist to do just that.

Gina Parr, Sol, Contemporary Art, Limited Edition Photographic Print, Art Online
By Gina Parr
Located in Deddington, GB
When she is traveling and away from her painting studio, Parr uses a camera as her way of ‘painting’ whilst on the move, Often mistaken as reproductions of her paintings, her photographs are in fact Original Limited Edition pieces. Habana Series Cuba 2016 was produced, whilst the Artist scoured each street of Old Havana, Cuba in January 2016. Photographed because of their inherent illusion of horizon and form, these chance marks, stains, colours and textures on walls and other surfaces, some of which have partly been laid down by others by accident or with previous intent, become chimerical worlds and fictional places. The photographs, which Parr has named after where they were taken, further confirm things not being as they seem, a pictured utopia found in the still squalid but reforming streets of Havana, Cuba. Discover original abstract paintings by Gina Parr online with Wychwood Art and in their Oxfordshire Art Gallery. Gina Parr works predominantly in the medium of painting, but also photographs when traveling: her way of painting whilst on the move. Her work is driven by autobiographical themes and natural reference, exploring the human condition through connections to place, time, space and memory. She has exhibited widely in galleries and art fairs in the UK and completed commissions in The Middle East, Belguim and London. Her works are held in collections Worldwide including Keble College Oxford, Director of Jestico + Whiles Architects London, President of the Boston's Children's Museum USA, and Goldman Sachs Senior Economist, London. Originally trained as a Fine Artist, graduating with a First Class BA Honours Degree, she went on to Chelsea College of Art to study Set...
