About the Item
At the edge of the semi-arid lands of New Mexico lies the White Sands desert, a set of dunes made of a rather unusual white sand since it is gypsum, which is why it was so light. Its particularity is to be the largest desert of this type in the world. In the distance, above the San Andres Mountains, several storms form and begin to overflow onto the surrounding plain. Usually very dry, the area receives little rainfall all year round. As the wind rises, loaded with tiny little grains carried by the gusts and which soon insinuate themselves everywhere, into every nook and cranny, we seek to return to shelter to protect ourselves from the scathing assaults of this abrasive breath. In the distance, we notice a motionless man standing on top of a nearby dune. Visibly busy consulting a map or even his phone, at this moment he seems somewhat disoriented and looking for a direction to take. Wouldn’t he be misplaced?
