About the Item

Supermodel Kristen McMenamy hugging a Snowman, photographed by Arthur Elgort for Vogue Magazine at Mammoth Lake in 1995. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. Arthur Elgort’s 'Kristen McMenamy at Mammoth Lake' , captured for Vogue magazine in 1995, is a playful and stylish take on wintertime glamour. The photograph features Kristen McMenamy embracing a snowman, her exaggerated pose and puckered lips adding a touch of humor and whimsy. Dressed in a chic white ensemble paired with retro sunglasses and snow boots, McMenamy embodies a bold contrast against the stark, sunlit snow and the crisp winter landscape. Elgort's use of black-and-white photography heightens the timeless elegance of the image while underscoring the quirky and carefree tone of the moment. This work is a vibrant blend of high fashion and lighthearted fun, capturing the spirit of winter with Elgort's signature charm and sophistication. Claudia Schiffer causing a mob in Rome, Kate Moss dancing on the tables in Paris – star photographer Arthur Elgort has eternalised some of the most iconic moments in fashion photography. Elgort is a lover of all things beautiful: ballet, haute couture, or the rough attraction of the Rolling Stones. Through his signature ‘snapshot’ style supermodels of the ‘80s and ‘90s, from Linda Evangelista to Christy Turlington, appear both larger-than-life and authentic at the same time. Shaking up the stiff and wooden style of studio photography at the time, Elgort ventured into city streets, cafés, and parks to create carefree styles that took on a life of their own. PREISS FINE ARTS celebrates 15 years of successful collaborations with only the most esteemed photographers and collectors. Balcon Con Vista
By Steve Schlackman
Located in New York, NY
This digital print is part of a limited edition set. Steve Schlackman is a lawyer by profession and a photographer by choice. Fascinated by the magical world of photography since his youth, he honed this skill over time, meticulously pouring over all things photographic, technical and creative alike, with unstoppable enthusiasm. Steve’s passion for taking photographs was ignited early on, during a study-abroad trip to Paris, where he immersed himself in all things art historical. Diligence, a strong trait Schlackman is known for, paid off, and after daily meanderings at the Louvre, a great love for art emerged along with hundreds of photographs. These pictures proved to be early tributes to the urban landscape, and although they didn’t amount to full-on series, a seed was planted. The omnipresent tension between the poor neighborhoods of the Cuban capital, as a result of political dictatorship, and the rich Afro-Cuban cultural roots of their inhabitants, whose wealth is represented by their music and feelings, is physically visible in Steve’s use of high contrast, a metaphoric touch on the subject of the light and darkness of the Afro-Cuban heritage. Although intentionally apolitical, the pictures speak volumes about the Cuban status quo and, appropriately, the eternal joy of living despite socio-political hardship. Play, in and of itself a mode to survive the harsh reality, represents another subject Steve is keen on capturing. Whether it is adults playing dominoes...
