Archival Pigment Print 17.5 x 23 in. Signed and dated in pencil on print margin George Krause is an American photographer, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1937. Krause studied at the Philadelphia College of Art where he explored painting, sculpture and photography. It wasn’t until his career in the US Army in the late 50’s that he began his full-time venture in documentary photography. His work seeks to observe and question the human condition. The artwork of Krause can be seen internationally in a number of collections as the Art Institute of Chicago, Bibliotheqoe Nationale in Paris, Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
