About the Item

How to Marry a Millionaire is a 1953 American screwball comedy film directed by Jean Negulesco and written and produced by Nunnally Johnson. The screenplay was based on the plays The Greeks Had a Word for It (1930) by Zoe Akins and Loco (1946) by Dale Eunson and Katherine Albert. It stars Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, and Lauren Bacall as three fashionable Manhattan models, along with William Powell, David Wayne, Rory Calhoun, and Cameron Mitchell as their wealthy marks. Although Grable received top billing in the screen credits, Monroe's name was listed first in all advertising, including the trailer. -- One-of-a-kind original vintage press print from the Celebrity Vault archives. Primarily a very talented and successful make up artist, Goodwin was also a legend among the Monroe fandom for his exquisite work on creating the most beautiful one of a kind Marilyn Monroe dolls the world has ever seen. No other sculptor has ever come close to creating a true likeness of Monroe as Kim did and his attention to detail was second to none. From the Collection of Kim Goodwin (stamped on back). Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962) was an American actress, model, and singer. Famous for playing comedic "blonde bombshell" characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and early 1960s and was emblematic of the era's sexual revolution. Long after her death, she continues to be a major icon of pop culture. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Monroe sixth on its list of the greatest female screen legends from the Golden Age of Hollywood. (wikipedia) William Travilla...
