About the Item
X-ray digital C-type mounted onto Dibond, with Plexi face
We live in a world obsessed with image, what we look like, what our clothes, houses, and cars look like etc. Nick Veasey counters this obsession with superficiality by using x-rays to strip back layers and show what is under the surface. Often, integral beauty adds intrigue to the familiar and challenges our automatic reaction to physical appearance by highlighting the beauty inside.
Society is being increasingly inhibited by security and surveillance. Take a flight or go into a high-profile courtroom and your belongings will be x-rayed. The post arriving in corporations and government departments is often x-rayed. Security cameras track our every move. By using the same gadgetry that removes a sense of freedom from our lives, Veasey speculates upon what the manufactured and natural world really consist of, thereby reminding us that beauty is more than skin deep.
Nick Veasey's work is exhibited in a number of major international galleries in Europe, North America, and Asia. He is the recipient of many photographic and design awards, granted by the IPA Lucie Awards, AOP, Graphis, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, PX3 and the D&AD. In 2008, Veasey was nominated for the IPA Lucie International Photographer of the Year.

Dahlia (Form by Perfection) #2 - Close-up of a Flower, Fine Art Photograpy, 2005
By Howard Schatz
Located in Vienna, AT
All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. Every print is meticulously crafted and personally signed by the artist. To ensure authenticity, the collector also receives a certificate from the gallery. This beautiful closeup of a purple and green dahlia is part of the Botanica series. Howard Schatz spent several years photographing flowers, developing a specific love for Dahlias. His images are surreal in their richness of color and detail. 'Dahlia #2' is a captivating closeup of a Dahlia's flower bud. The intricate details, including the visible veins in the petals, are a testament to the artist's skill. The rhythmic arrangement of the pointed petals creates a mesmerizing kaleidoscopic effect. The deep blue, light purple, and neon green color palette adds a surreal touch, making this piece a unique addition to any collection. Opulent flower crowns, intertwined bodies, and decadent dinners hosted in underwater worlds – Howard Schatz's imagery is marked by grandeur and abundance. Transgressing genres and motives, Schatz approaches portraits, nature photography, and the moving body in all its forms with an outburst of passion and energy. Liquid colors, extravagant perspectives, and daring details surprise the onlooker at every corner. Succulent vegetation and airy fabrics bleed into magical compositions. Howard Schatz is an award-winning photographer living in New York City and widely exhibited worldwide. With twenty books of photographs to his credit, Schatz's wide-ranging artistic oeuvre includes studies of actors, dancers, athletes, portraiture, and a world of underwater imagery. His photographs have appeared in countless magazines around the globe, including a running series in Vanity Fair, along with the covers of TIME, Sports Illustrated, US News...
