No ink stamp, no legend. Note: Rue du Faubourg-du-Temple is a street in Paris, France, between the 10th and 11th districts (arrondissement.) It begins at Place de la République and goes to Boulevard de la Villette. It is a border road between two arrondissements, its even side (on the right coming from the Place de la Republique) being on the 11th arrondissement side and its odd side (on the left) on the 10th. Rue du Faubourg-du-Temple extends Rue du Temple (3rd arrondissement) on the other side of Place de la République and is itself extended, beyond Boulevard de la Villette, by Rue de Belleville (19th and 20th arrondissement). The rue du Faubourg-du-Temple owes its name to the fact that it crossed the hamlet located outside the Porte du Temple of the Paris surrounding wall, which served the order of the Templars, and that it is traced in the extension of rue du Temple. The suburb was originally a district "fors le Bourg" (from the old French "fors" derived from the Latin "foris" (outside) and from "borc" (town). This street is an old way leading to Belleville. Its final name was determined at the beginning of the 16th Century when it became the main thoroughfare of the Faubourg de Paris beyond the Porte du Temple which was part of the enclosure built by Charles V.
