Laurence Gallien is a French photographer born in 1964 who lives and works in Saint Jean de Luz, France. After traveling the world from Easter Island to Alma Ata, Kazakhstan including United States where she visited frequently during her youth but also Russia and Ukraine where she lived longer, she decided in 1997 to settle in the Pays Basque, France. From her very young age Laurence Gallien, guided in her learning by an amateur photographer who was his father, tirelessly captured her surrounding universe with camera. Although deeply committed to the photography, she will not immediately turn this passion into a profession. A pedigree in international business, her travels and her devotion to the painting will enrich later experiences without giving up the camera. With the encouragement of a recognized artist friend motivate her to introduce her photographic works to the public in 2012 during numerous exhibitions and pop-up shows. She finally opened her own gallery L'Îlot in Saint Jean de Luz in 2017. She draws her inspiration from nature, from this oceanic environment that is always in movement. Her works, using vibrant light and the original interpretation of her fascinating photographic gaze, make us feel the amazing poetry of our world. Laurence Gallien’s photography’s is represented throughout the world and belongs to numerous private collections.
