About the Item

This contemporary modern fine art seascape photo depicting a boat was captured by French artist and photographer Natalya Mougenot in August 2025 in the south of France, and makes part of her ongoing series dedicated to the beauty of simple things." “I took this photograph on a quiet summer afternoon, when the world had slowed down just enough for me to breathe it all in. The sea was calm, the light was gentle, and this lone sailboat seemed to glide not just through water, but through time itself.” “‘Tranquil Voyage’ is more than a scene — it's a feeling. It's that fleeting moment when we leave everything behind, even for just a while, to discover something new within ourselves.” “This boat became a metaphor for the soul — solitary, peaceful, yet endlessly moving forward into unknown horizons. It reminded me how beauty can live in stillness, and how motion doesn’t always need to be loud to be powerful.” “When I pressed the shutter, I wasn’t just capturing a boat on the water — I was capturing a breath, a memory being born, the quiet magic of a daydream unfolding.” “In summer, we embark on small voyages — sometimes only a few miles away, yet they change us. This image holds that transformation: the warmth of the sun, the cool salt air, the promise of something just beyond the horizon.” “Simplicity is often where the truth hides. One boat, one sea, one sky — and yet, in that stillness, a whole world of emotion opens up.” Details: Title: "Tranquil Voyage" Artist: Natalya Mougenot Date: August 2025 Location: south of France Medium: Archival pigment print on premium matte photo paper Dimensions: 20 x 27 cm / 7.8 x 10.6 inches (unframed) Edition: Limited Edition Signed on the back Certificate of Authenticity included Each print is made to order. About the Artist: Originally from Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and now based in Lyon, France, Natalya Mougenot has spent over two decades refining her artistic voice. Her multicultural background and personal experience inform her bold, expressive works, which have found homes in private collections around the world. Natalya’s distinctive visual language blends Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Naïf, and Art Brut—resulting in paintings that are raw, instinctive, and emotionally resonant. Across her work, three values guide her: authenticity, sincerity, and honesty. “Authenticity is everything,” she says. “People can always feel when something is real—or when it’s not. I want my work to be honest, to come from a place that’s true.” In addition to painting, Natalya is also a passionate photographer. Her photographic work—also featured on this platform—mirrors her painterly sensibility: a poetic, observational approach that captures the quiet power of everyday life. For her, photography is both inspiration and a form of presence, often serving as visual sketches for future paintings or existing as standalone works. Boating Buddy, Centerport, LI : contemporary photography
Located in New York, NY
A wonderful contemporary artwork by a noted Long Island photographer Holly Gordon. For more than two decades Gordon has pushed through the traditional boundaries of photography. She is one of the pioneers of “photo-liminalism,” a process of achieving painterly quality in photography by overlapping, layering, and manipulating. As painters paint with a brush, Gordon’s brush is the lens of the camera and her computer. The digital world that Gordon works with provides endless opportunities. The evolution of images in her practice is limitless and bountiful.  Another highlight of Gordon’s recent career is her collaboration with Ward Hooper, a noted illustrator and painter from Long Island. The result of this collaboration is a book called “Parallel Perspectives : The Brush/ Lens Collaboration,” with a forward by Peter Pitzele, Ph.D., a teacher and author, and a preface by Denise A. Bibro, Director of Denise Bibro...
