About the Item
Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England, and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world, and his work is now part of many international collections.
Part of Richard Heeps 'Ordinary Places' Series, it captures Britain on the brink of change. It was Richard's first colour series and it achieved much success with an exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in 1989 which then went on to tour Museums and Public Galleries around Britain. More recently 'Ordinary Places' formed part of Richard's 30 year Retrospective at The International Photography & Moving Image Art Fair in 2016.
Artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, it has a 5cm museum board white window mount and framed in a box frame made professionally in the UK. Client may choose the frame colour on purchase either Black (oak) or White (beech). Can be requested unframed.
