Man with Pocket Watch by Thomas Kennaugh is an enlarged and enhanced print of a daguerreotype made in 1855. The original daguerreotype measures approximately 3.5 x 3 inches, and is printed on a reflective metal plate. By enlarging this photograph, Kennaugh is able to capture details not visible by the naked eye. This photograph featured a detailed portrait of a man standing and holding a pocket watch, with his arm leaning on a table. His piercing eyes and subtle smirk cut through the years of tarnish and deterioration of the daguerreotype plate. This striking portrait provides a glimpse into life in the 19th century.
Man with Pocket Watch is listed as a 22 x 17 inch archival pigment print, and comes with a black frame, measuring 23.25 x 18.25 x 1.25 inches. This photograph will include a signature label from the artist. This print comes with the original daguerrotype, as shown in the additional images. The daguerreotype casing measures 3.75 x 6.5 inches, and it is encased in a black frame measuring 5 x 7 x 1 inch.
