Vicki McKenna's "Beach Afternoon" is a 13 x 17 inch color photograph that captures the feeling of the late afternoon on a summer’s day at the beach. Clothes, wet from playing in the surf earlier in the day, are hanging on the line. The screen door covering the open doorway invites you inside to enjoy a cool drink. Printed on archival paper with a matte finish, delivered in an acid-free white mat. Image dimensions are 13 x 17 inches. The photograph is included in McKenna’s A Sense of Place portfolio.
Signed, numbered, and dated.

As a geologist and teacher, Vicki McKenna started taking photographs to illustrate concepts to her students, but soon became intrigued by the challenges of representing a three-dimensional world with an engaging, two-dimensional image. While it is not surprising that McKenna is drawn to photograph the natural landscape, her interests are broad-ranging, and a fascination with architecture means she is also interested in the built environment.
