About the Item

Series: ORGANIC LANDSCAPE AERIAL All available sizes and editions: 40" x 30" editions of 10 60" x 45" editions of 5 72" x 54" editions of 3 Archival Pigment Print on Fine Art Baryta paper Mounted and Framed Alexandre Manuel was born in 1979 in the Franche-Comté region, at the border of Switzerland and France and currently lives in Portugal. In a refined style, the works of Alexandre Manuel question the status and limits of the landscape. With long exposure techniques, natural registers highlight the tension between absence and presence, between man and his place in nature, between the natural evolution of the landscape and its permanence in our lives. With a doctorate in Visual Semiotics (specialized in printed photography) and with the title of auxiliary professor of the universities obtained by the French Ministry, Alexander chose to consecrate his life to photography. Perspectives, long exposures and adequate atmospheric conditions allow us to create spaces that are almost pure, serene and peaceful, in which the setting let our imagination float beyond the horizon. “I try to create a continuous scene that is untouched by time and only framed by traces of human contact in structures, rocks, and maritime locations.“ reveals Alexandre.
