About the Item

Stokksnes, limited edition photograph, signed and numbered, archival The Earth is an ever-changing ecosystem. It existed well before we were here and will hopefully be here well beyond the time we leave it. It’s real, at times beautifully surreal, powerfully haunting, and alive all at the same time. While photographing, the world gets quiet around me... things seem simple again – and I obtain a respect and reverence for the world that is hard to communicate through words. I get into a ‘zone’ where time and space seem hard for me to measure. For me those moments are a combination of the exterior environment and my interior combining. Hopefully, the images presented help communicate what I visualize during those times. –Mitch Dobrowner

Bennett Peak
By Mitch Dobrowner
Located in Sante Fe, NM
Dobrowner presents landscapes with sublime complexity – imagery poised between permanence and flux, his images at once capturing seemingly eternal geological formations and the ever-changing complexion of weather. For Dobrowner, these swirling skies and monolithic mountains inspire a reverence and respect for our vast, wondrous, and sometimes perilous planet. While photographing, Dobrowner keeps the words of Edward Abbey...

Fly Geyser, Black Rock Desert, limited edition photograph, signed, archival ink

Fly Geyser, Black Rock Desert, limited edition photograph, signed, archival ink The terrain of the Black Rock Desert, Nevada is an area that I have always wanted to explore. In November of this year, I finally got the chance. The area is sparsely inhabited with the largest town being Gerlach - population of 100. Humans have inhabited the Black Rock Desert since approximately 11,000 BC.. The large black rock formation was used as a landmark by early settlers and emigrants that initially crossed and settled in the area. At its base is a large hot spring and grassy meadow, which was an important place for those crossing the desert headed for California and Oregon. In the mid-1800's John Fremont...

Sunrise Over Lone Pine, limited edition photograph, signed, archival ink "The Eastern Sierra Nevada has always been a major inspiration for me - and a reason why I started photographing the landscapes of the Desert Southwest. Owens Valley, the Alabama Hills and specifically the town of Lone Pine was one of the first areas I spent time exploring when I first arrived in California (30+ years ago). The sight and majesty of Lone Pine Peak and Mount Whitney...
