About the Item
Questions about the nature and boundaries of reality are contextualized in this dreamy image of a woman strolling in a fantasy forest that breathes high-pitched color. Pioneering photo image maker Mitchell Funk conceived and executed this work 53 years ago; today it looks very contemporary. Funk used negative color for the forest, and then with a multiple exposure technique, he seamlessly sandwiched a walking female figure into the scene. It was done on a 35mm Kodachrome slide decades before easy-to-do digital photography.
The video is showing a little dark... .use the still images as a reference for color and value.
The work is signed, dated, and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, printed later, unframed. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
