About the Item
When light illuminates the city, there is a good chance you will find Mitchell Funk at the ready to capture it. Glistening light skims off the water's surface, turning it light blue in contrast to the 1970s lower Manhattan skyline that serves as a backdrop. There is sophistication to all of Funk's images, especially when he shoots a popular location. Done in 1979 when color photography was mostly snapshots, "Sailboats in New York Harbor" represents a particularly advanced visual sensibility.
Signed and dated on the lower right and numbered lower right, 2/15 Printed later, other sizes available, unframed - Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper.
