About the Item

Titled the 'Sundance Series', these artworks are a development of traditional landscape photographs and they have created a unique perspective as if captured through a telescope or a porthole. Photographed in California, Arizona and Utah these were the shooting locations of many Hollywood Western films, 36 Westerns were shot in the Movie Road area alone. The artwork has a dreamy cinematic feel. This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a circle cut museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame. It is signed and numbered on reverse, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The photographic print is from original negative source. It can be purchased in a bespoke size to suit your interior design project and when purchasing in multiples we can offer an excellent consolidated shipping price so just get in touch to discuss your requirements. Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England, and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world, and his work is now part of many international collections.

Influenced by a number of photographic peers and precursors such as Candida Höfer, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, Michael Wolf, Gregory Crewdson, William Eggleston and Joel Sternfeld, Schott's images successfully blend technical, conceptual and formal rigor with a decisive sense of composition and color. Schott's images have an iconic sensibility and give us a bird's eye view onto humanity and its constructs. The specific is edged towards the abstract, often revealing the compelling and disjunctive moment where nature meets man. Frank Schott was born in Cologne, Germany in 1962.
