About the Item

Limited Edition of 3 More sizes on request „I took this photo during a 2300km crossing of the Greenland ice sheet, form South to North. One week after the start of the expedition, a storm developed. The storm lasted seven consecutive days and six nights, and blasted winds of 120 kilometers an hour non-stop for that entire time. The video illustrates what the photo does not: utter chaos and the violence of nature.“ - Sebastian Copeland - Sebastian Copeland is considered a photographer "who has created works of outstanding artistic quality and conveys messages of urgent global importance." His award-winning photographs take us into a world that few people can see and experience with their own eyes. His photographs of the polar regions, show the unique and spectacular beauty of our nature, but above all, its transience.
None of these images here, still exists today in its form, in the worst case, no longer at all.

"I do not simply photograph icebergs, but I portray the ice.
I look at each iceberg as an individual." And that is precisely what distinguishes his work and makes it so unique. His partly expressionistic photographs of the polar sky, also speak to us on an emotional level and are impulses for dialogue around the existential question of origin and nature's unique and all-important connection to us humans. He has been honored with numerous awards for his commitment, including the Bambi in the "Our Earth" category, the International Photography Award, and the Tokyo International Foto Award for Best Photographer. In 2019, he was awarded the National Order of Merit by French President Emmanuel Macron. _Iceberg, Arctic, Antarctica, Ice, Snow, Landscape, climate, polar
