About the Item
Annisquam Snow is a color photograph that captures the first flakes of a coming storm along the Gloucester, Massachusetts seashore. The dune grass, sand, and rocks of the shoreline are dusted with white with colors in subtle shades of browns and grays. Printed on archival paper with a matte finish that compliments the muted tones of the photograph. Delivered matted; image size is 14 x 21 in. Signed, numbered, and dated. Limited edition of 10.
As a geologist and teacher, Vicki McKenna started taking photographs to illustrate concepts to her students, but soon became intrigued by the challenges of representing a three-dimensional world with an engaging, two-dimensional image. While it is not surprising that McKenna is drawn to photograph the natural landscape, her interests are broad-ranging, and a fascination with architecture means she is also interested in the built environment.
