About the Item

Tibetan Plateau, 2013 by Chinsese artist Yu Hanyu is a signed 16" x 20" HD C- print. In an edition of 5, numbers 1/5 and 2/5 are available. The artist says of his photographs of the mountains of Tibet: "Under a vast sky and white clouds, eagles soar -- the valley is deep, shadows are blurred. This is a mysterious and peaceful world in Tibet with abundant holy water running through the plateau." Seeking inspiration for his landscape paintings, Yu Hanyu has spent many months since 2005 photographing the snow-covered Tibetan plateau and Himalayan mountains. As artist and photographer, he attempts to capture ‚ the towering row of mountains, the precipitous cliffs, the cold moon and the wasteland, the places beyond the Great Wall and the forests, the wind and the frost‚ with the Himalayans as his special muse. Provenance: Yu Hanyu Studio *** Artist’s Bio: Yu Hanyu is a contemporary Chinese painter born in 1964. He is known primarily as a landscape painter and calligrapher. Yu Hanyu’s process includes reproducing on rice paper the effects of oil painting by combining traditional materials such as heavy ink and cinnabar and dust gold pigments. His works have been shown in many exhibitions at home (China) and abroad and are written about in both domestic and global art newspapers, as well as featured in a TV series in China on fine arts and artistic observation, i.e., Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. As a contemporary artist, Yu’s paintings and calligraphy works have entered the auction market — on ArtNet, at Rongbaozhai Auction Company, Hanhai Auction Company, and Guardian Auction Company. *** Available at 99Prints NYC an online art marketplace for today’s collector of contemporary art, works on paper, original and limited edition photography.
