A determined, lone, sexy nude male is about to sprint down an endless road in New Mexico and, in a quest for meaning, meet his destiny. The image exudes a sense of primal instincts with surreal lighting and graphic simplicity. It is both a portrait and a landscape and embodies the past, present, and future. The image is full of possible interpretations. Looking at it by either man or woman one can not help but insert themselves into picture. The man on an endless road is everyman/woman.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
