After Mark Seliger, this is how this Fine Art Print came to be: While developing a concept for a Harper’s Bazaar assignment with Demi Moore, we explored the theme of "more vs. less." This idea took shape in a sketch that eventually evolved into the final photograph—Demi posed on a spiral staircase next to a giraffe. The image allowed us to play with striking contrasts in scale and proportion.
From the Olympus of the music industry to the Oscar portrait studio - Mark Seliger's oeuvre is a tribute to art and pop culture in modern America. Starting as a magazine photographer who went on to shoot over 100 Rolling Stone covers, Seliger is known for his meticulously planned portraits. Whether highly conceptual or intuitive, his photographs of David Bowie, Nirvana, or the Rolling Stones radiate an intellectual coolness. Mark Seliger
Mark Seliger, an American photographer, began a successful career with Rolling Stone magazine in the 1980s and soon became the magazine's chief photographer and remained in that position until 2002. During his career with Rolling Stone, he was responsible for the creation of over 100 magazine covers. Seliger has also photographed covers for GQ, Vanity Fair and other similar magazines. His portrait work takes on a wide range of subjects, from pop idols to political figures and he established himself through the portrait photos of the greatest Hollywood stars. His style of photography brings together classic styles with more modern looks and a timeless visualization of society.
