Tim Flach is a graduate of St. Martins School of Art where he studied Photography & Painted Structures. Having spent the last twenty years as a highly successful advertising photographer working with clients such as Adidas, Cirque du Soleil, Jaguar and Sony, Flach has more recently been focusing on his own personal work.
Flach has become renowned for his highly stylized animal portraits, which are far removed from traditional wildlife photography’s images of animals observed in their natural habitat.
With his project Equus Flach turned his creative attention to horses, aiming to capture the emotion that horses evoke in us rather than to simply take a photograph of a horse. Flach brings his subjects into such close focus that the viewer begins to read the gestures and body language as we would a human being. His photographs evoke pathos, humour and an unmistakably intimate human empathy.
Tim Flach’s work has been featured in publications such as Creative Review and Stern Magazine, and he has also received many international photography awards including the Association of Photography and British Design & Art Direction Awards and the International Photography Awards Professional Photographer of the Year. His work has been widely exhibited in the UK, US and Far East and Tim has also lectured extensively around the world. Tim’s work was documented by Discovery’s Animal Planet channel charting the progress of his seven year long project. Tim Flach’s major photographic book Equus was published in 2009 by PQ publishing.

Flach has five main bodies of works which cover the span of the animal kingdom. Starting in 2008 with Equus, Flach looked at the family of equine animalia from Ass to Zebra. In his second publication, Dog Gods, Flach examined the ever evolving relationship between humans and dog through the diversity of dog breeds. In 2021, Flach released More Than Human, an exploration of the ethical, scientific, and political arguments that structure our relationship to the natural world. In Evolution (2013), Flach expanded his approach to marine life with an anthology of life from aquatic to land. Endangered (2017) contrasted a visual approach with a narrative bent, emphasising the harsh nature of reality faced by species on the verge of extinction. Birds (2019) begins with the Archaeopteryx, a feathered dinosaur connecting us to the origin of modern birds. Flach followed this with an exploration of the evolution of the bird as we know it today, including flightless birds and more particular birds like hummingbirds. Flach is a Senior Research Fellow (Artist in Residence) at the Centre of Eudaimonia and Human Flourishing at Linacre College, Oxford. He also serves as President of Association of Photographers.

Stallion Studio Portrait: Dubawi - Pigment Print on Hahnemühle Paper - unframed
Located in London, GB
'Dubawi' (foaled 7 February 2002) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire.
Dubawi is a bay horse with no white markings bred in Ireland by Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stud. He was one of the only crop of foals sired by Dubai Millennium, an outstanding racehorse. His dam, Zomaradah was a top class racemare who won the Oaks d'Italia, E. P. Taylor Stakes, Premio Lydia Tesio and the Royal Whip Stakes.[2] As a descendant of the broodmare Sunbittern, Zomaradah, who also produced the Lancashire Oaks winner Emirates Queen, was closely related to In the Wings, High-Rise and Virginia Waters.[3] The colt raced in the blue colours of Godolphin and was trained by Saeed bin Suroor. He was ridden in all but one of his races by Frankie Dettori...
