Measures Photo 13.4375 x 10.4375 inches Framed 21.0625 x 17.0625 inches Signed by photographer in lower right hand corner Excellent condition. Lovely rare studio black and white photo from the George Hurrell era of Old Hollywood. Signed in the plate by the photographer and with the word “Hollywood” in the lower right corner. Matted and framed in an attractive black wood molding. The inscription reads “For Joan (Crawford?…they were lifelong friends), with my very best wishes, Sincerely, Myrna Loy.” Signature is very crisp and clear, and created with an old fashioned fountain pen, not a modern style one, or ballpoint pen. From an important Palm Springs collection. Loy is considered one of the top Hollywood actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood, and starred with all the leading men of the time, in many of the most important and memorable films. Born in Helena, Montana in 1905. Died in New York in 1993. Very slight bump to upper right corner.

Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci, born in Parma and the son of poets, was himself a published poet at the age of eighteen. He moved into films at twenty as an assistant director to Pier Paolo Pasolini, himself a poet turned filmmaker.
