About the Item

TAKI-KASURI FOLDS from Chloe Hedden’s Fold Series explores the tension between softness and structure through the poetic manipulation of handmade Japanese fabric on linen. In this sculptural textile piece, Hedden employs taki-kasuri—a traditional ikat weaving technique—to evoke the motion of falling water. The fabric’s indigo tones and linear patterns ripple across the surface, while the gathered folds surge outward, creating a three-dimensional bloom that feels simultaneously fluid and anchored. The work engages with themes of cultural memory, impermanence, and material reverence. As the fabric crumples and expands across the canvas, it invites reflection on the labor of craft and the quiet dynamism of textile as form. Hedden honors the history embedded in the material while recontextualizing it within a contemporary sculptural language, blurring the line between painting, fiber art, and installation. Comes signed and ready to hang. About artist: Born in Utah (USA), Chloe Hedden looks for the unseen patterns and hidden narratives that reveal the magnificence in all things. According to the artist, there is a still point in every moment and to capture this essential luminescence is what she aims for in her practice. Chloe makes use of archetypes from the cultural and mystical history to inform her work. It is through this inspiration that she created her latest body of work comprised of intricately folded Burlap wall sculptures. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002, Chloe's paintings and sculptures can be found in numerous public and private collections.

Hand-Dyed Indigo Canvas Quilt
By Stephen Kenn
Located in Los Angeles, CA
After several years of using indigo canvas to upholster our sofas and chairs from the Inheritance collection, we have accumulated a great deal of scrap material. Most are just pieces too small to use for upholstery, or the leftover cuttings from the sewing room floor. We designed and made these quilts with those pieces. The backside of the quilt is a very soft brushed canvas. Each piece is unique with varying shades of Indigo canvas and quantities are very limited. Inspired by a worn-in pair of jeans and created alongside the team at Simon Miller, USA, our indigo cotton canvas is hand dyed...
