About the Item
"Female Substance" Sculpture 20" x 4" inch by Dmitry Kawarga
Medium: plexiglass, 3D printing, polymers
Artist Dmitry Kawarga - Biomorphic radical.
He has exhibited in Russia and abroad since 1998 and is one of the few Russian artists working with advanced technologies.
Kawarga began his career as a painter and got his original art form among Moscow non-conformists. The flat surfaces gained more and more pronounced fracture and became ever more monumental; forms started to emerge in the manner of reliefs, and finally turned into sculptures.
Currently, he works with a wide range of polymers that serve as the material of large-scale landscape sculptures and miniature detailed compositions.
A big cycle of his works is called Science-Art because, in addition to the monumental sculptures and elaborate reliefs, he also produces kinetic and interactive installations, complete with biofeedback devices and robots.
His work synthesizes science, art, and technology, and he often involves engineers and programmers in the creative process.
His style has been variously described as "biomorphism" or "biogenic art", while his insistence on the end of anthropocentrism has caused others to call him a practitioner of "post-human" art.

Man. From the Fateful Flowers series:
"I believe that flowers are like people. Flowers come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. Some extremely rare and some very common. They are all beautiful in their own unique way..."
The goal of this project is to reflect the duality of the world.
The artist tries to show the fine line between the terrible and the beautiful. The work is a result of observing the lives of people whose destinies were changed by chance.
This is the story of an explosion preceded by another explosion until the situation becomes understood later. It is about the opportunity to see the beautiful and vice versa. Illusory freedom that you define for yourself, constrained by those restrictions. A person can never be 100 % sure about his life as the red roses can change their delicate velvet petals to the cold metal shine at one point.
A flower is a metaphor for human growth and development.
Freedom depends on the size of the pot, the boundaries of which are determined by the individual.
Nowadays, when the whole planet is isolated due to the pandemic, we want to be free more than ever. In the modern world, thus, binding to a position (rooting) becomes obsolete.

Abstract Cast Glass Sculpture, 'Maina', 2013 by David Ruth
By David Ruth
Located in Oakland, CA
'Maina' is a contemporary abstract cast glass sculpture by David Ruth from his Internal Space series. It features painterly brushstroke formations in glass called trails. Trails are created through rolling molten glass into various forms and shapes. They are then placed within clear glass and fused into one large piece through kiln casting. This technique creates a layered, suspended, and vibrant three-dimensional space within.
About the Internal Space Series:
David’s experiments with sheet glass and fusing led him to try to make the glass thicker to see more interior space. It was during this time a professor pointed out that he was working with a metaphor, for which the internal space of the glass was the equivalent to the internal life of the mind. This became his operating mantra but also forced him to come to terms with the casting of thick sections.
“Creating those internal spaces came with some problems. Other than telescope mirrors, I did not know that anyone annealed glass in a kiln for more than a day or two. When pieces cracked after five...
