Over time, Gelmi transitioned from painting to steel sculptures, drawing inspiration from his welding background. His works, often in corten steel, gained significant attention for their high-relief forms and innovative use of space. Today, Gelmi focuses on metal sculpture and abstract painting, continuing to explore themes of fusion, balance, and the relationship between materials.
