About the Item
Medusa vase #4. Hand made porcelain vase. First thrown on the pottery wheel, then hand build and carved. This vase is one from Irina’s series called "Medusa". It's glazed with celadon and gas fired. Made in 2014, 41 x 16.5 x 16.5 cm. It is stamped on the bottom with Irinas’s maiden name Deshchenko.
Irina Deshchenko-Lakshin was born and raised in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the former USSR. She later moved to the United States in 2009, where her journey into the arts began.
After relocating to the U.S., Irina took pottery classes as a personal interest and quickly developed a passion for ceramics. Over the following years, she studied with various ceramic artists. What began as a hobby soon evolved into a professional pursuit.
In 2013, Irina began showcasing her work in gallery exhibitions, and her pieces have since entered numerous private collections. She continued her formal art education, earning a Certificate of Fine Art in 2018 and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2021.
Irina works primarily with stoneware clay, porcelain, and terra-cotta, experimenting with various firing methods. Her style, contemporary with classical influences, is evident in her creation of vessels and figurative sculptures, which convey both timeless forms and modern sensibilities.

To my darling for memory - a horse on a turquoise blue background
By Daria Kotlyarova
Located in Fort Lee, NJ
This painting is made on the wooden block showing a horse that symbolizing the memory that can go to anyone with deep thoughts and love. It can be placed either on wall or any other place including shelf.
In the modern world, the artist is a peculiar explorer of the time that he lives In. The “main character” of this world is a man whose gaze is turned inward. This view projects its existential reality, where the figurative language of painting is a method of transmitting abstract images of the experiences of the main characters and the time in which they exist on an equal footing with the viewer. Pictures of Daria Kotlyarova have no plot, at first glance, they have no action, but there is a moment. The moment before the second “before” ... and the viewer stops and freezes in tension, this is almost a psychological “cinema reception” that refers us to David Hockney’s paintings...
