About the Item
Bio:
Ceramicist Lauren Nauman graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in Ceramics & Glass. The traditional technique of slip casting is central to her practice, and the process of mold making and casting with clay informs her designs. The extraordinary Lines series she developed using these techniques gained her selection for the RJ Washington Bursary and Woo Scholarship, and after graduation she was awarded the Newcomer Award at Ceramic Art London, exhibited at the One Year On exhibition at New Designers London, and received the Highly Commended award at the Young Masters Art Prize. She also held multiple design internships and created tableware for the Tate Modern’s new building, Switch House restaurant. She has exhibited in The Salon Art+Design, NYC, USA, The Mimam Edit, Miami, USA, in Stockholm, Sweden where a piece was added to the collection of the National Museum of Stockholm, in Geneva, Switzerland and also been selected for the Parcours Céramique Carougeois Bienneal in Geneva, Switzerland, and shortlisted for the recent International KOGEI Award in Toyama, Japan.
