About the Item

Description for all series "Tree of Life": "One day I was in the furniture workshop of my friends and noticed wooden logs in the corner. I have been working with wood all my life and love this material very much. I was told that this wood was used for some projects and is no longer needed. So they can share with me. I gladly took these pieces to my studio. When I began to clean and cut it, I realized that it was oak. I counted its rings and found that it was over 125 years old! How much this tree had seen in its lifetime! It has witnessed the lives and deaths of several generations. The idea of sculptures was born right there. The Tree of Life is a symbol of the experience of all mankind, the Tree, where a new life is born. The wooden part itself is the body of history, the fabric elements are a new life. That's how the sculpture is transcribed." Olga Radionova is a talented Ukrainian textile artist, designer, and sculptor. Selected participant of the International Textile Art Biennial in Haacht, Belgien. The object will be shipped from Belgien. This miniature sculpture is desirable to exhibit under glass, dry cleaning only.

'The Calendar Wheel' assemblage in drawer with spheres clock shells cards
Located in Milwaukee, WI
'Calendar Wheel' is an original assemblage by the American artist Charles Berg. Within a divided drawer, Berg has assembled a variety of found objects: metal balls, a clock, a sheet of copper punched with the word 'wind,' a Victorian card of a woman, etc. The artwork takes its name, however, from a transparent 1935 calendar in the lower right. Berg here is following the tradition other artists who specialize in assemblage, including Joseph Cornell, Robert Rauchenberg, and Betye Saar...
