About the Item
This contemporary monumental blue-colored sculpture is by Brendon McNaughton.
The distinctive visual language of this multi-disciplinary Canadian artist has attracted the attention of numerous international collectors. McNaughton’s ethos is to create sculptural art that is not only visually compelling but of lasting value. By often using valuable materials like bronze, aluminum and gold, he is trying to ensure its worth. The monumental sculpture, ‘Blue Chip’, is considered one of his iconic pop art pieces—“a sculpture that captures the essence of stability and high-value investment.” In the financial world, ‘blue chip’ stocks are those associated with historically premium brands--companies viewed as solid investments. Made from aluminum, the highly textured, elegantly curved ‘chip’ is painted in a vivid royal blue and sits on a white base.
McNaughton often uses ‘frontier technologies’ to create large-scale works such as 3-D printers, carving robots, virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
“Bridging the gap between art, science and technology in daring, innovative ways, Brendon McNaughton is one of the up-and-coming transnational and transdisciplinary exemplars of the third Millennium. He capitalizes on the value of artistic heritage from the ancient Greeks to the masters of the 20th and 21st centuries, while constantly experimenting in the latest mediums to express his own artistic vision.” Dr. Francesca Valente, Arts Producer, Curator and Consultant, University of Toronto
Brendon McNaughton received a B.F.A. with honours from York University and is an advisor to the Dean of York’s School of the Arts, Media Performance and Design. He began exhibiting his work in 2010, and his sculptures have been presented in major exhibitions at OCAD’s (Ontario College of Art and Design) Onsite Gallery, the Palazzo Loredan in Venice, Italy and in Virtual Reality, among others. McNaughton’s pieces can be found in both private and public international collections.

Bewitched - tall, modern, abstract, contemporary, aluminum outdoor sculpture
By Stephane Langlois
Located in Bloomfield, ON
Two organic shapes rise from the ground and reach for the sky in this finely crafted aluminum sculpture by Stephane Langlois. The abstract forms evoke the idea of two humans engaged in a dance, perhaps two birds, moving in response to one another. These sculptures are lively in the sunlight, moody in the evening light. They work well in sunny climates, and are also outstanding against the winter snow and light.
Individual dimensions: pictured here, the left piece is 91 x 20 x 18 inches. The right piece is 91 x 19 x 21 inches.
Stephane Langlois completed a bachelor's degree in psychology, in 2002, and a D.E.C in sculpture at the Maison des métiers d'art in Quebec City...
