Dutch artist Jos de Wit can be seen exclusively in our gallery with his very special sculptures and paintings. On both levels he allows his world to merge with realism. This gives a very special and surprising view of 'daily reality'.
This baby is made afteer drawings he saw made by the great Leonardo da Vinci. The form of a newborn almost a ball made him enthusiastic to create this sculpture.
An encounter with the artist is an encounter with 'the world of the artist'. Jos created a world all his own in his house. A world of musical instruments, beautiful wood and with statues made of the same wood, and paintings everywhere you go. A wonderful artist with special ideas and works.
He does not shy away from any subject in his work. Often small gems full of special finds show a very personal view of reality. Jos de Wit's reality can be both raw and loving. Realism does not stop at what the eye can see. Surprising combinations and shapes make a wrecked bicycle a gem and a school of fish a feast of colors and movement.
