About

This head , a ceramic sculpture in earth tones, is realized in a primitivist mode. The face of the sculpture is pale white topped by earth tones in darker shades; it is reminiscent of indigenous people for whom the soul inhabits the visage. The sculptor has signed the inside of the piece. Raul Acero is a sculptor and ceramic artist born in Bogota, Colombia, and raised in New York City. In his work, Acero is drawn to ancient figures and people throughout history. He is a Professor of Art at the University of Redlands in California, and exhibits regularly.
