Rare anatomical head made of stucco and wax, of 18th-century German workmanship. Fascinating study model used in academia at the time, a fascinating piece of scientific art.
The piece stands out for its great realism, with attention to detail reproducing the morphology of the human head and neck. The skullcap is designed to open, revealing the brain inside.
The combination of painted putty (to reproduce muscles and tendons) and wax (to reproduce veins and arteries) gives the model a remarkable verisimilitude with reality.
