About the Item

Molded terracotta male bust from the Neoclassical period, Italy, second half of the 18th century. AD monogram on the shoulder. The bust, entirely hand-molded, is based on ancient models: it has a strong twist of the head to the right, a position typical of many heads, both Greek and Roman. After all, we are in the midst of Neoclassicism, and great enthusiasm for archaeological discoveries inspired artists to reproduce ancient sculptures. The bust has a beautiful original patina. Very good condition, some signs of time, small cracks. Measurements H cm 35 W cm 26 D cm 19
