About the Item

This is a rare statement piece that commands that eye. It is of museum quality will be the centerpiece of any space. Masterfully crafted details of the human form are finely rendered in a pre-art deco style. Hans Harry Liebmann's Diana achieves a delicate balance between strength and femininity. In-person, this life-size work dominates the room with its elegant and classical presence. The work shines up very well. Light reflects off of Diana in an artful way. We have experimented with lighting her up with colored lights. The result is quite wonderfully artistic. With colored lights, the statue simultaneously becomes classical and contemporary. There is a hairline crack in the upper arm/ shoulder. At some points it widens to about 1/16 wide. It goes 3/4 around the circumference of the arm. . It is stable. The crack is mostly visible on close inspection and is in the fold of the arm at the cast point and therefore not is a major focus area. The sculpture was assembled in two parts. The arm/ shoulder area where the crack is an assembly cast point. Its stable. Bronze - Dark Patina - Bow is assembled in two parts and screws in. Signed and dated on Base H. H. Liebmann, 1910. Most likely this is unique with only one cast this size. Inscribed on the back of the base Akfien - Gesellschaft Gladenbeck Berlin - Friedrichshagen Shipping will require 3 strong men to move it on a dolly. The bronze should be packed in a bespoke wooden crate with extra padding laying down on her back.
