About the Item
The graphic metal sculpture 'Abstract Love' by ArmanH is an experience to turn the artist's drawing into a 2D sculpture using metal. The intricately woven lines of metal create dramatic shadows when hung on the wall. "It expresses my inner world inspired by love. The line expressing the life-giving energy of love, and along with the symbols, brings the graphic sculpture to a balance." - ArmanH
This artwork is a part of Abstract Love #1, #2, #3, #4, #5” series. The presented artwork “Abstract Love” does not have a number, since it is the first work of the series, which was started in 2017 and finished in 2021.
Arman is an Armenian artist represented in several major collections around the world including the Terra Garden in Kikinda (Serbia), Contemporary Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova), Boyajyan Center for the Arts (Prague, Czech Republic), and at private collections in Europe, Asia and in the USA.
"Creation for me is an endless process: the more you search, the more you find, the deeper you dive, the more you get away from the earth’s crust. There are three important components in my artworks – philosophy, humor and dynamics. When these components are concentrated, the artwork can defend itself by engaging in discussions and become eternal, because the work of art lives longer than the artist. I work with different techniques (welding, soldering, casting, pottery, oil painting, drawing with coal, pens, and etc.). Each material has its own language. When you understand the language and make the material into an idea, the result becomes a successful work. I am inspired by the artworks of the greatest artists of all times – Fidias, Scopas, Praxiteles and Lysippos." -- ArmanH

When you understand the language and make the material into an idea, the result becomes a successful work. I am inspired by the artworks of the greatest artists of all times – Fidias, Scopas, Praxiteles and Lysippos. The source of my inspiration comes from the history of an ancient era. I often read about the excavations of Heinrich Schliemann, Arthur John Evans and others who have found the most durable materials - bronze, ceramics and glass. Penetrating into the thoughts, perceptions and feelings, I try to mix those three together. In my art, drawing plays a special role. If you go deeper, you will find out that the line is clearly visible in all my sculptures. The secret of getting a three-dimensional form is the energy of the line. – ArmanH

View All'Big Sausage Pizza' UAP Polich Tallix Foundry Chromium Steel Sculpture by XVALA
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
Made from a real pizza nestled in its original box opened using high-chromium stainless steel, the piece measures 16" x 16" x 21", weighs approximately 80 pounds and is an Artist Proof. The artist sees his creation as a reflection of the cultural distortions represented by memes, a statement he has expressed perfectly in his reflective, yet unevenly textured, medium. "You look at your reflection [in the piece], and it's distorted in the stainless steel."
The piece was born in 2007, just as the social internet was beginning to explode out of the digital back rooms and onto the world stage under the watchful eyes of Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, Tumblr, and other popular platforms. But Big Sausage Pizza was conceived well before that, in the Wild West days of the internet when few truly public forums existed and media of every kind was most commonly shared via email.
In those days one never knew what to expect from a link or an attachment and each click had equal odds of either brightening your day with a dancing baby or posing a risk to your computer, your dignity, or your relationships... and that was half the fun. Every recipient of these images, videos, or audio files suddenly had the means not only to pass them along to as many people as they pleased, but to change and individualize them before sending them on. In this way, the media very quickly mutated and were distributed around the globe. In other words, they became true memes.
Pizza has evolved in much the same way. Like the internet, it started as an artifact of a specific culture, but today both are so common throughout the world that most of us can barely remember a time when they were special and exotic. Just as the internet simply IS, pizza also simply IS. We used to make pizza at home, or at least buy it in a place where they were handmade and offered a limited list of toppings. Today, the meme that is pizza is brought to our tables by an almost entirely mechanized process, and it's so wildly mutated that each individual has the ability to create a new twist on the old...

'Untitled Assemblage #S3-23', by John Wolfe, Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
John Wolfe's Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture, "Untitled Assemblage #S 3-23" brings together wood, steel, ceramic elements, and acrylic paint. The warm colors of the wood and painted ceramic elements soften the feel of the rectilinear arrangement. The shallow depth of the work gives the sculpture a kind of "drawing" quality while the shadows it casts lend a more expansive feel. The heavy, dark wood base anchors all aspects of the work in place. This work is the perfect tabletop piece. It's large enough to command attention, but also subtle in its open framework arrangement.
John Wolfe was born in Vernon...

'Danae, ' by ArmanH, Bronze Sculpture
By Arman Hambardzumyan
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This 20.47" x 9.44" x 10.62" bronze sculpture by Armenian artist, Arman Hambardzumyan, was created in 2013 and depicts the tragedy of the Greek goddess Danae. The artist's interpretation of this classical Greek myth, where an oracle foretold Danae would bear a son who would kill her father, and in an attempt to evade this, Acrisius, her father, imprisoned her. The king of Gods - Zeus, desired Danae and came to her in the form of golden rain. The oracle came true, Danae conceived a son, Perseus, who killed Acrisius by accident. The expressive love between Danae and Zeus is imitated by the naked body of a woman and a golden shower on her body.
"The image of a woman always inspires me in both physical and spiritual beauty. In this sculpture, I tried to express the image of a woman with her soul, which has no smell, taste and is not tangible. The contour of the beautiful shimmering body of a woman allows you to feel the presence of the female soul inside."--ArmanH
