ABOUT THE ARTIST:
The ideas are born from observation of the human existence, in all its splendor and absurdity. The addition of my own whimsy and uncommon approach brings about an expression of life in the permanence of bronze. People are only one part of the whole planet and my anthropomorphic works are an exploration of the blending of man into various parts of the environment. With attention to anatomic detail and a tongue-in-cheek twist I wish to stimulate the imagination and, maybe, tickle the funny bone."
Sculpture is not the first profession Jack Hill has embraced, although he has always worked in spatial art forms. Born in Rochester, N.Y. and trained in Syracuse, New York City, and Paris, France. Jack's successful career as a mime, magician, and ventriloquist spanned three continents and twenty two years. Studying and performing with Marcel Marceau, touring with his own mime company, and as a solo act, he became adept at manipulating, shaping space and defining form.
Jack's skills in wood carving, puppet making, and boat building blended to catalyze the epiphany he experienced at the sculpture studio of Randolph Johnson in the Bahama Islands. Creating dramatic imagery with the permanence of bronze became the new direction for his life. The techniques of the "lost wax" casting process, learned at a local foundry, opened the door to a new phase of three-dimensional expression.
About his work Jack says..."When on stage I moved through a complete set of gestures and emotions, but in my sculpture I try to capture a single moment in time, inviting the viewer to fill in the before and after with his own imagination and experience. It is this participation that complete the circle of the creative process initiated by my hands in clay.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Denny Haskew currently resides in Loveland, Colorado where he is actively engaged in the art industry as a sculptor. He received his degree from the University of Utah, then served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Having spent numerous years as a guide and ski instructor, Denny has learned to love the rivers and mountains of the western states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. After moving to Loveland, a hub of successful working sculptors, he wasted no time in getting monumental sculpture experience through working with renowned sculptors including Fritz White and Kent Ullberg N.A. Since 1987, Denny has created and placed dozens of monumental compositions; spanning the full spectrum of the figurative genre.
As a member of the Potawatomi Citizen Nation, it is only natural for his artwork to follow the Native American culture. His art has not been limited to Native American and southwestern subjects, however, as he frequently explores abstract forms placing emphasis on the qualities of the metal and stone used. As a Charter member of the National Sculptors' Guild and being close to other sculptors and the Loveland area
foundries has helped him to master all the foundry processes involved in producing a desirable and lasting monumental bronze sculpture.
Over 50 major public placements include the Smithsonian Institution, DC.; the Gilcrease Museum, OK; Cerritos, CA; Little Rock, AR; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux collection, MN, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians...

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
I was born in Loveland, Colorado and now reside in nearby Fort Collins. The natural beauty of this region was instrumental in my aesthetic development. The language of the land and its features has guided me toward sculpture as my means of artistic expression.
I discovered my love of art in high school, having been exposed to advanced creative concepts through a self-developed independent study program. I grew up surrounded by construction tools...

Cafe No'Se, Surreal Scene South of El Paso, Ink on Cheese Cloth and Resin
By Andrew LeMay Cox
Located in Chicago, IL
South of El Paso, where time stands still, cantinas and religious relics litter cobblestone streets. The sound of folk music draws you into a dimly lit room. Within the small room is an even smaller room with a hidden door tall enough for a child. Beyond the door, Maximo listens to all your wishes. Illuminated by mezcal and candles, the room opens into another world and you realize this is the wild west.

Ink Painting Statement
Within these works the exploration of visual storytelling and construction propose challenging questions to the traditions of academic painting.
Two components that influence these painting practices are process and narrative.
The function of materiality within these works attempts to question traditional methods of paint on canvas. They are constructed using ink that is baked at high temperatures and is assembled by painting on skins. The skins hang loosely from the stretcher and add sculptural properties to 2-dimensional surfaces.
The other component is to create an aesthetic narrative that allows the viewer to escape their reality and get lost in themes outside civilizations normality’s. These characters occupy a utopian landscape outside the realms of race, religion, or politics. They ignore social or economic concerns. They are ageless and serendipitous. They sing, dance and make love without cause, limitation or destination.
