eternAL II is a nickeled and Elox aluminium wall sculpture by Czech artist Ondřej Oliva. Elox is a hard surface treatment of aluminum. Dimensions are 100 × 100 × 20 cm (39.4 × 39.4 × 7.9 in). This artwork is a unique piece, and it is sold with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
In this series of wall sculptures, Ondřej Oliva explores the geometric motif of the circle, to which he assigns profound symbolic meaning. For him, “the circle is a symbol of eternity. To reach eternity, we must enter the circle.” His circles appear to be composed of stylised aluminium tree branches, transformed into refined, abstract forms.
Oliva, a Czech sculptor, often draws inspiration from both nature and everyday objects—including foods—which he reimagines as original sculptures layered with allusions and references. Materials play a central role in his practice: bronze and aluminium are his preferred choices, offering durability and timelessness. In this work, aluminium was selected for its ability to render even the smallest details with remarkable precision.
