Anna & Sergii Baierzdorf Home Accents

Ukrainian

Anna and Sergii Baierzdorf are the Ukrainian design duo behind Furn Object.

They studied architecture and urbanism at the Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Ukraine. Anna continued her studies in Italy in Politecnico di Milano, while Serhii was actively involved in the development of architectural and urban planning projects in Odesa.

In 2018, they united into a creative tandem and co-founded an architecture and design studio. Over the years, Anna and Sergii created many interior design and architectural projects, and collaborated with the Odesa Fine Arts Museum, helping to create and organize exhibition spaces. They often had the opportunity to design unique bespoke furniture, objects, and structures for their projects. This became the starting point for the creation of Furn Object, where they’re able to further explore their passion for product design.

Anna has always been deeply interested in how art, architecture, and design reflect time and capture the environment in which they were created. She observes these features with curiosity and looks for where they intertwine. She is inspired by the dynamic culture of the 20th and 21st centuries, artisanal craftsmanship, and the interaction between humans and nature. Lots of features in her designs are created intuitively, similar to the natural processes.

Sergii has an architectural background and perceives the world through the prism of composition. He pays attention to structure and balance in the world around him, that’s where he finds inspiration and creative ideas. He explores the environment through photography and transfers his sensual experiences into his work.

Together Anna and Sergii create an intuitive design filled with their impressions and emotions. Their experiences materialize into playful interior pieces, each with a distinctive character. The duo’s design is existential, known to derive inspiration from nature and give the feeling of lightness and joy. Their signature approach balances structure, sensuality, and radical aesthetics.

Furn Object pieces are handcrafted by Ukrainian artisans, with a seamless blend of individuality, creative exploration, and timeless craftsmanship. They’re inviting self-expression, and create a feeling of freedom, similar to what one feels when surrounded by nature.

Furn Object is the encouragement to search for something that is truly yours, daring you to treat yourself to something special.
