Frances Nail Abstract Prints
Frances Clark Nail was born in Memphis, Texas, in 1924. She was the youngest child and her nickname was Tootsie. Nail grew up during the great depression and knew the struggles that it brought upon her family and the world around her. She grew up to be an artist and a writer. She studied journalism and art at Texas Tech and would have earned her degree if she passed French. Nail worked at an airfield during World War II. After the war, she married Paul and they moved to Houston, Texas, after he finished his degree in 1948. Nail had two daughters. They owned a beach house on Galveston Island then moved to Austin in 1979 and owned a house on Lake Travis. She published four books and was often invited to book clubs. Nail lived the rest of her life in Austin, Texas, until she died in 2013.
