1920s House of Adair Floral Black Crepe Beaded Flapper Dress
By House of Adair
Located in London, GB
The House of Adair was a Parisian atelier that created beaded silk gowns for the export market during the 1920s. They were retailed in the best department stores of the day, especially in the US and UK. This fluid, tubular tailoring was typical of the must-have dresses of this era and the silk crepe is adorned with brightly beaded flowers, among them sunflowers, thistles and gerberas. The original label sits inside the waistband and reads “Adair 4. Cité Paradis Paris...

To decorate your house, take a room-by-room approach. In each space, first establish a color palette that consists of two or three hues that blend well with each other. Select an architectural element or a primary piece of furniture to serve as the focal point, and then pick furnishings to complement it. Opt for flooring, wallpaper, paint, lighting and other elements to coordinate with the furnishings in the space, and then finish off the room with accents like rugs, wall art, window treatments and decorative objects.
