Jack Perlmutter Prints and Multiples
Jack Perlmutter was born in New York City but was known to be a Washington, D.C. painter and printmaker. He was Professor of Art and Chairman of the Printmaking Department at the Corcoran Gallery of Art from 1960–82 and was the Curator of the Cosmos Club in Washington DC. He was also an authority on Japanese prints and was a Fulbright Research Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. His work is held in several important museums, including The Butler Institute of American Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum and the Phillips Collection. He died at Bethesda, Maryland in 2006.
