Jayson Lilley Abstract Prints
British
Jayson Lilley is a British Printmaker. His artistic approach showcases his expertise at the forefront of printmaking practices, where he skillfully combines painting and collage techniques to create prints that are distinct and unique from one another. This fusion of methods adds an element of unpredictability and creativity to his creations. Fueled by a deep passion for urban landscapes, Lilley’s artwork prominently centers on architecture. His focus involves capturing the essence of well-known landmarks and iconic structures within bustling cities. This deliberate attention to architectural details allows him to craft dynamic scenes that resonate with viewers who might recognize and connect with these familiar urban elements. One of Lilley’s distinctive techniques involves placing these vibrant architectural scenes against expansive skies. To accomplish this, he employs the use of large areas of gold, copper, or silver leaf. These metallic backdrops not only add a touch of opulence and visual interest but also create a striking contrast between the architectural forms and the open skies, reinforcing the idea of urban life coexisting with nature. By integrating painting, collage, and printmaking in innovative ways and by capturing the interplay between iconic structures and vast skies through the use of metallic leaf, Jayson Lilley’s work appears to offer a fresh perspective on urban landscapes while showcasing his technical mastery and creative vision.to

John Van Hamersveld (born September 1, 1941) is an American graphic artist and illustrator who designed record jackets for pop and psychedelic bands from the 1960s onward. Among the 300 albums[3] are the covers of Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles, Crown of Creation by Jefferson Airplane, Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones, and Hotter Than Hell by Kiss. His first major assignment, in 1963, was designing the poster for the surf film The Endless Summer, after which he served as Capitol Records' head of design from 1965 to 1968. During that time, he worked on the artwork for albums by Capitol artists such as the Beatles and the Beach Boys.[5] He also oversaw the design of the psychedelic posters for the Pinnacle Shrine exposition.[6]
The Endless Summer
The Endless Summer (John Van Hamersveld illustration)
In 1963, Van Hamersveld was hired by director and filmmaker Bruce Brown to design the iconic Endless Summer movie poster using a photograph taken by Bob Bagley, general manager and camera man for Bruce Brown Films. In the staged photograph originally taken at Salt Creek, Brown is positioned in the foreground with his surfboard on his head and the movie's two stars, Robert August...

"Night Views" Silkscreen Print by The Skyscape Artist, 25/100
Located in Soquel, CA
"Night Views" Silkscreen Print by The Skyscape Artist, 25/100.
By Tetsuro Sawada ( Japanese, 1933-1998)
This raven black geometric abstraction focuses on hard-edged horizontal lines, color, and light, giving the impression of dusk through the "bokashi," or shading, technique, which is most difficult in the silkscreen medium, a good example of Sawada's theme of the infinite beyond, the silent emptiness of the universe. Signature in the bottom right corner reads, "T. Sawada '87," titled in the bottom center, "Night Views," and numbered, "25/100," in the bottom left corner. Presented in a new white mat. Paper size: 34"H x 22"W, Mat size: 39"H x 27"W
Born in Hokkaido, Tetsuro Sawada (1933-1998, Japanese) graduated from Musashimo Art University where he majored in Western painting. In 1960, he began painting abstract oils...
