Louis Delsarte Interior Prints

Louis Delsarte was an African-American artist, known for what has sometimes been called his illusionistic style art. He was a painter, muralist, printmaker and illustrator. When Delsarte was growing up, he was surrounded by music, including jazz, opera, musicals and the blues. From this experience, as well as from his knowledge of African history and culture, he has drawn much of the inspiration for his art. He was an associate professor in arts and humanities at Morehouse College, in Atlanta, Georgia. Delsarte’s career as an artist, for the past 50 years, has complemented his career as an educator. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, at museums and galleries throughout the United States, including the Studio Museum, in Harlem and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His work is exhibited in numerous public collections, including the Carlos Museum, at Emory University, in Atlanta and the National Gallery of Art, in Bermuda.
