American, 1917-1991
William Reynold Brown was a prolific American artist whose career embraced virtually every face of the illustration field. During his life he produced work for the newspaper comics, invented the concept of the cutaway drawing for North
American Aviation, painted overs for some of the first paperback pained covers for some of the first paperback books every published, illustrated scores of magazines and magazine covers, and most notably produce over 300 mvo0ie posters.
Reynold Brown was commissioned to do the poster artwork for the 1962 version of the movie, one of the posters is shown to the right. This one shows the basic elements required in most movie posters (theme, stars and romance).
Brown also portrayed Brando in "The Ugly American," (1963) and in "Appaloosa" (1966).

She is reaching down to grab another. There are several car crashes on the highway, and people are fleeing from her as if they were small insects.
Brown's poster for Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958); part of this image was selected as the cover art for a recent book about Brown's art and life.[8]
