Walter Sinz More Furniture and Collectibles
American, 1881-1966
Walter Sinz was born in the US in 1881. He is one of Cleveland's most celebrated sculptors in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Sinz designed the Thompson Trophy, awarded by one of the prominent air races in the 1930s, which probably led to the commission for the Weatherhead Award. Sinz also won several awards from the Cleveland Museum of Art before and after World War II and was known for his medallic art and his three-dimensional sculptures, including bas reliefs for the West Side Market in Cleveland.
