Astro West is owned and run by Marc Tanjeloff, a third generation fine mineral dealer and collector. His grandfather Julio Tanjeloff turned Astro West into a lavish 16,000 square foot gallery showcasing items from all over the world, from fine minerals to African art, created the periodical Mineral Digest, and was the first person to bring the mineral tanjeloffite, more commonly known as tanzanite, to the United States.
